  1. Bound the objective.State whether the lot is proving assembly, sourcing, test, customer delivery, transfer, or a combination. One lot cannot answer an unlimited question.
  2. Control effectivity.Identify which change applies to which unit, material, instruction, and record.
  3. Place hold points.Stop before irreversible or expensive work when a critical inspection or approval is required.
  4. Record actual work.Capture material, operation, defect, rework, deviation, test, and acceptance without turning the traveler into an essay.
